Big party and initiatives: From June 24 to July 2, a rich calendar of experiences, meetings and workshops open to all will enliven the evocative space that puts the sea and its sustainability at the center.
The beating heart of the festival will be the Ocean Live Park – open daily from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., (Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 10 p.m.), free admission – which will welcome the boats and crews after the long race around the world in a grand setting of spaces and initiatives dedicated to the sea, sailing, sports, entertainment and innovation.
Innovation and research on the sea become an experience for all thanks to the Innovation Village, a real pavilion hosting the 9 solutions for sea and environmental protection selected in the coveted project managed by the Blue District of the City of Genoa and funded by Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione Carige.
The full program is available at www.genovabluedistrict.com/innovation-village/ : more than 60 free experiences and initiatives with no need for reservations, offered with formulas suitable for everyone from children to students, from families to enthusiasts, as well as experts, researchers and businesses.
The Innovation Village is the highlight of a process initiated by Genova Blue District, a convergence platform managed by the Genoa City Council’s in-house company Job Centre S.r.l. with the aim of promoting innovation in the digital and green spheres and giving support to projects related to the Blue Economy, through a call for entries included in the broader context of the “Towards The Ocean Race” project and supported by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione Carige.
The 9 ideas exhibited were chosen within the July 2022 call for proposals, “Call For Innovation- Sports in the Blue Economy,” aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, innovative SMEs, innovative start-ups and innovative start-ups with a social vocation. The winners received an economic contribution worth between 40,000 and 200,000 euros and an entrepreneurial coaching service by the Incubator of the Polytechnic of Turin (I3P).
