Tellaro boat tours
Tellaro is located on the edge of the Gulf of La Spezia, a few kilometres from Lerici. This village has been included in the list of “most beautiful villages in Italy”. The small village is located on a cliff near the sea. It is very pleasant to take a walk among the colourful houses and intricate streets of the centre. There life flows at a slow and relaxing pace.
The main attraction is the Church of San Giorgio, with a picturesque facade of the ancient pink colour, built at the end of a cliff surrounded by the sea. Legend says that the inhabitants of the city were saved from the invasion of the Saracen pirates, thanks to the octopus that began to ring the bells.
Tellaro boasts beautiful beaches. The small free beach of Vittoria is ideal for all sea lovers.
From the sea you can also reach the famous “Spiaggioni” with its unspoiled nature.
One of the most heartfelt and interesting holidays is the Tellaro underwater Christmas, one of the most suggestive traditions of Liguria. The procession of the statue of the Child Jesus emerges from the depths of the sea, carried by divers. Once it reaches the ground, the statue is solemnly placed in a large manger decorated with 8,000 candles. The party ends with a great firework display over the sea.
The patron saint of Tellaro is San Giorgio, celebrated on April 23rd. The Octopus Festival is also very interesting, held on the second Sunday of August.
